Kat, Environmental Education Teacher

Hi! I’m Kat Hanson. I use she/they pronouns, and I teach environmental education here at St. Paul School of Northern Lights.

I have lots of pets. I have a dog, two cats—we are fostering a friend’s cat—a bearded dragon, and a ball python. And I’ve had many, many pets over the course of my life.

When I’m not at school, I love playing board games. This summer, I inventoried my shelf, and I have 161 unique board games.

What I think makes Northern Lights very special is our extremely vibrant and supportive queer community that we are able to hold for ourselves as staff members but also for our many, many queer students.
