Volunteer

We would not be where we are today if not for the dedicated and passionate volunteers who contribute their valuable time, talent and energy in order to help us fulfill our mission. We are so grateful for the support we continue to receive.

We continue to need reliable volunteers to support our staff in various roles throughout the school. If you have a passion for our mission and a desire to help us fulfill it in a volunteer role, we’d love to hear from you!

Current Opportunities

Lunchroom Volunteer

We are excited for the opportunity to begin a more mission-aligned response to food waste at Northern Lights this 2024-25 school year, but we need your help as students learn a new system of sorting their trash, recycling, and organics waste in the cafeteria. If you’re interested in helping out, sign up for a shift!

General Maintenance

We often need help and expertise building or fixing a variety of things for our students. Past projects have included: painting classrooms, building outdoor play structures, building risers, landscaping, etc. If you have handy skills you’d be willing to donate, during the day or evening, email info@schoolofnorthernlights.org to let us know.

Classroom Volunteer

If you are a parent/guardian or other family member of a currently enrolled student, please connect with their teacher to find out about how you can contribute as a classroom volunteer.

The Parent & Family Group is organizing a group of classroom coordinators, whose job is to enhance communication and build community within each classroom. Learn more about classroom coordinators.

Board Committees

If you have specific interest and/or expertise in finance, fundraising, marketing, communications, pedagogy, and/or diversity and equity, you could be a valued member of one of the committees of the Northern Lights school board. Contact a board member to learn more.
